The collection consists twenty-two black and white interior and exterior photographs of the WNCT television station and the station employees. The photographs are believed to be from the 1950s.

Joseph and Lala Steelman related to the National Democratic Party and related organizations concerning social, environmental, and political issues (1969-1990). The collection also includes family files on Steelman and Edmisten families, plus large collection of familial correspondence. Papers of Carson McCullers (1941-1985 [Bulk: 1941-1945]) documenting the life and literary career of the noted Columbia, Georgia-born American author of Southern Gothic novels and short stories, consisting of her correspondence with noted American composer David Diamond (1915-2005), 1941-1945, and a letter from McCullers' biographer, Virginia Spencer Carr, to Stuart Wright, regarding publication of the McCullers – Diamond correspondence, 1985.

Papers (1830-1919) of a prominent New Bern, NC attorney, state representative, 1876-1880, and state senator, 1881-1883, consisting of correspondence, legal briefs, financial papers, accounts, estate papers, land book and miscellaneous.
Included is a logbook/scrapbook kept by Henry A. Phelon (1831-1902) who served as an acting Master in the Union Navy (1862-1865) during the Civil War. Orders, holograph letters, dispatches, handwritten copies of documents, and newspaper clippings glued into this scrapbook chronicle his wartime service under Rear Admiral Samuel P. Lee with the Blockading Squadron off the coasts of Virginia and North Carolina on the U.S. Steamers Shawsheen, Monticello, and Daylight, and U.S. Ironclad Steamers Canonicus and Atlanta. Later clippings (through 1900) and documents pertain to his post-war years, most of which was spent in West Springfield, Massachusetts.
