This collection contains papers and ephemera (1875-1985) pertaining to the Barnes Family of Murfreesboro, North Carolina, and the surrounding area. Included are correspondence, land records, photographs, genealogy notes, wills, obituaries, programs, autograph book (1884), report cards from Wesleyan Female College and UNC Chapel Hill, poetry, and accounts.
The Attic officially opened September 7, 1971, in Greenville, NC. The nightclub served as a local venue for entertainment and live music. The collection spans 1970-1985 and includes photographs, posters, advertisements, t-shirts, and a few publications. The strength of the collection is in documenting the variety of music performed as well as the club's later efforts to branch out into comedy and other forms of entertainment.

Imperial folio sheets, pasted on linen backing (probably in 18th century) with some insect damage and repairs, and some loss of information. Framed dimensions: 50-1/4" x 62-1/2". Scale: 1" = 5 miles. Papers (1845-1918, 1967) of lawyer who lived in Martin County, Franklin County, and Smithfield in Brunswick County and was active in Reconstruction Era Republican politics, consisting of correspondence, receipts, vouchers, court dockets, legal papers, annual railroad pass, financial records, advertisements.
The collection has letters, journals, notes, and transcripts of journals that belonged to Newsom Jones Pittman.
Collection contains speeches given as Danforth Lectures at East Carolina.
