Also included is the 1913 City High School Commencement program, Kinston, N.C.

Ledger (1880-1897) of Kinston, N.C., physician, Dr. Henry Otis Hyatt, containing accounts of patients, medical cures for illnesses, and the constitution, by-laws, and minutes of the Kinston Commercial and Trade Association. A native of Tarboro, N.C., he moved his practice to Kinston, N.C., in 1872 and established Dr. Hyatt's Sanatorium for the Diseases of the Eye and General Surgery in 1891. Dr. Hyatt was one of the best known and skilled physicians in the state, and had one of the first "free clinics" in this country. Dr. Hyatt was also instrumental in the development of the Kinston Commercial and Trade Association, later known as "The Merchants Association."

This collection holds menhaden fishing ledgers from 1949 to 1962 with information on how much an individual was paid each pay period plus the amount of taxes withheld, the individual's race, the number of dependents, and other information. These ledgers cover boats and workers who were part of the Beaufort By-Products Co., Inc., fleet of Menhaden fishing boats based out of Beaufort, North Carolina.
Mrs. Booth (1916-2004), the owner of the Booth Guest House in Manteo, N.C., discusses her childhood memories, family life and history on the Outer Banks of North Carolina and in Norfolk, Virginia. She also talks about her father, Alpheus W. Drinkwater, the telegrapher who relayed the news of the successful first airplane flights of the Wright Brothers at Kitty Hawk, N.C., in 1903.
Vice Admiral Olaf M. Hustvedt (USNA Class of 1909), discusses his thirty-six year career, including service in World War I and World War II, heading the Experimental Section in the Bureau of Ordnance, serving as Production Chief of the Naval Gun Factory, commanding the USS Detroit and the USS North Carolina, Commander of Battleships in the Atlantic Fleet, and commanding Battleship Division 7.
Material (1862-2017) including correspondence, manuscripts, photographs, narrative reminiscences, and a muster roll (1862) and other original documents related to Dr. William N. Still, Jr.'s career as a well-known and respected maritime historian and author. His research topics included shipbuilding in North Carolina, maritime history, and Naval history in the American Civil War through World War II.
This collection contains a photograph album (1944-1945) kept by Raymond Drew (of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania) while he was a member of Marine Photographic Squadron 254 (VMD-254) during World War II. His squadron later became a part of Squadron 954 (VMD-954). This squadron was based in Greenville, North Carolina, and the album contains photographs of the Greenville base and of Pacific Theatre battle sites.
Includes a ledger used as a scrapbook (1930-1934) kept by Annie Higgs Duncan (wife of Herman Henry Duncan) of Greenville, North Carolina, documenting the life of her family including son Richard and daughter Mary Ann.
