This collection (1966-2011) consists of papers, ephemera, and printed oversize materials related to Democratic and Republican party politics in North Carolina that document elections and Chester Julian (C.J.) Hyatt's involvement in politics. There is also material related to George C. Wallace's campaign for president in 1968, 1972, and 1976. Hyatt was state chairman for Wallace's run in 1976.

This collection consists of the records of the Long Leaf Opera Company which was founded in 1998 in Durham, N.C., by artistic director and playwright Dr. Wallace Randolph Umberger, Jr., and musical director and composer Mr. Benjamin Franklin Keaton and disbanded in 2012 due to the death of Dr. Umberger. Included are librettos and musical scores, scrapbooks, CDs, DVDs of performances, programs, photographs, promotional material, financial records, correspondence and clippings. A large portion (ca. 1950s-1997) of this collection also documents the pre-Long Leaf Opera Company careers of Umberger and Keaton. Included are manuscripts for plays, novels, musical comedies, and poetry written by Umberger, musical scores for an opera and muscial comedies written by Keaton, programs for productions they participated in, publications, photographs, and correspondence (some is from Paul Green).
Collection consists of five scrapbooks containing items related to the life of Judge Oliver H. Allen (b. March 20, 1850, Wake Co., N.C.; raised in Duplin Co., N.C.; d. December 16, 1925, Kinston, N.C.) and his ancestors and descendants. The date span covered is 1826 to 1980. Of particular interest are items related to Judge Allen's life, the Hicks family of Granville Co., N.C. (1826-1832 and photocopies of documents for late 1700s), the WWI service of William A. Allen and Judge Allen's sons Matthew H. Allen and Reynold Tatum Allen, and the lives of Judge Allen's daughter Martha Allen Barnes and her daughter Sarah Allen Barnes who married Benjamin Bruce Sugg, Jr. Items include clippings, correspondence, Oxford Academy and Trinity College student materials, photographs, resolutions, WWI military records, funeral bulletins, booklets, prints, and postcards. Dr. Robinson, the 1808 Price-Strother Map also known as the First Actual Survey of North Carolina, and Messenger Handbook for 1879, which includes Goldsboro Messenger Map of North Carolina.
