Papers (1894-1901, 1958-1974, 2009, undated) of a U. S. naval officer (Rear Admiral), graduate of the U. S. Naval Academy, 1872, who served as commander of the European Squadron, 1895, and Mare Island Navy Yard, 1898, and consisting of correspondence, newspaper clippings, genealogical tables, a poem, photographs, and miscellaneous.
Collection (1816-1899) including correspondence, legal papers, military papers, etc. relating to William D. Holt and his cotton sales business, local policies, railroad construction, the Farmers Alliance, private debts, his service during the Civil War, and business records.

Steven N. Anastasion (U.S.N.A. 1942 graduate) served aboard the USS Champlin (DD601) from 1942 to 1945 and commanded the Destroyer Escort USS Melvin R. Nawman (DE 416) from 1952 to 1954 in Norway, Denmark and Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, the Destroyer USS Hawkins (DDR873) from 1958 to 1960 and the Guided Missile Cruiser USS Leahy (DLG-16) from 1964 to 1967 in the Mediterranean and the Caribbean. Papers refer to his service aboard these ships and include printed materials, newsletters, and navigational summaries. Also included are 2009 issues of The Seaweed, published by the USS Champlin Reunion Group and a transcription of an interview with Captain Anastasion done by Robert C. Bormann of the Undersea and Hyperbaric Medical Society.

Photographs depicting local life and scenery such as street scenes, a Peng (tent cart), street vendors, Chinese Theatre scene, temples, Boxer ruins used as a boarding school and teachers and their students, are accompanied by ephemera such as programs, memorials and prospectuses.

The documents also reflect his work with flood relief in the Shanghai District of China in the 1930s and his internment by the Japanese in a prison camp near Shanghai during World War II.

Included are advertisements, photographs, and a route book listing the date, city, state, and lead show that the minstrel troupe toured with. Also included are extensive research files created by Alex Albright. These files chart McQuitty's movement state by state and show by show.
