Rev. Ivey James Wall, Jr. was born on May 16, 1938, in Craven County, NC. The collection spans 1960-2005 and includes files, notebooks, and photocopies of genealogical research related to Greenville, Pitt County, and Eastern North Carolina.

Papers (1902-1980s, undated) of Greenville, NC, lawyer and member (1956-1961) of the N.C. House of Representatives and Greenville Mayor (1969-1971) Frank Marion Wooten, Jr. (1916-1992) consisting of correspondence, pamphlets, proposed bills, reports, petitions, resolutions, bulletins, periodicals, printed bills, and photographs. Crime and punishment-related topics, and tax issues are major topics covered.

This collection contains letters (1964-1967) written by brothers Terrence and Dennis Miller of St. Louis, Missouri, who joined the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. Letters written by Dennis Miller during 1967 document his time serving in Vietnam as part of 3rd BN, 60th Ord Co. Also included are letters written by fellow soldiers and friends (through 1971), service records, negatives, military payment certificates, and Vietnamese money.

Collection (1936, 1941-1942) consisting of a photograph album of the S.S. ZamZam, an Egyptian-owned ship, its crew and passengers, including 120 American missionaries (from 21 different denominations), tobacco buyers and other passengers traveling from New York to Alexandria, Egypt, via Capetown, South Africa, who survived sinking by the German raider Tamesis 17 April 1941, including newspaper and magazine clippings, photographs, periodicals, correspondence, and photocopies of an autobiographical account.

Oral history interview with William B. Martin, Professor Emeritus from the College of Education at East Carolina University in Greenville, North Carolina, relating to his experiences (1941-1945) in the U.S. Navy during World War II, including his participation in the Normandy Invasion on June 6, 1944.

On January 14, 2009, Dale Sauter (Grant Project Director) and Chris Oakley (Grant Historian) interviewed David J. Whichard II and Stuart Savage. Both Whichard and Savage have been at the Daily Reflector for most of their lives. Whichard's grandfather and his grandfather's brother founded the newspaper in the late 1800s. Savage retired in March 2009 with fifty years at the newspaper. They have both been involved in the newspaper in many capacities, including Whichard as one time publisher, and Savage as photographer. What makes this interview so special are the reflections of both Whichard and Savage about their experiences at the newspaper and in the Greenville area. Obviously, many changes have occurred since the start of the careers and the present day. These changes include both the physical processes, as well as the whole nature of the newspaper business. During this time there have also been dramatic and sweeping social transformations in Greenville that also mirror changes that occurred on a state and national level. This City of Washington Statistical Map No. 1 showing the Valuation of Real Property as determined by the assessment of 1878, and corrected to July 1st, 1879, was compiled by Lieut. F. V. Greene, U.S. Eng'rs, Ass't to Eng'r. Comm'r. to accompany the annual report of the Commissioners of the District of Columbia, for the year ending June 30th, 1880.

Letter (June 22–23, 1840) from John and M. J. Atkins of Averasboro, North Carolina, to their cousin Caroline E. Turner in Montgomery, Alabama. The writers discuss family news, domestic activities such as dressmaking and preserving, local economic "hard times," and mention a forthcoming Whig political meeting in Averasboro.

This collection (1823-1999) contains the papers of Robert "Bob" Boyd Robinson III. Robinson, born in 1948 in Halifax County, N.C., was a member of various groups including the Sons of the Revolution in the State of North Carolina. His papers include materials related to various families of Northeastern North Carolina and Southeastern Virginia.

Willard and Daisy Rowe Papers (1963-2006) contain newsletters,clippings, publications and a poster documenting the work of the Evangelical Baptist Mission in Franklin County, North Carolina, and in Guatemala.

Collection contains brochures and correspondence related to Founders Week activities at East Carolina University.

Muster roll for a detachment of the 29th Regiment U. S. Colored Troops Detachment under the command of Capt. Wilson Camp, dated June 30 – August 31, 1865. The roll documents the names, ranks, enlistment data, and service records of the 17-man detachment consisting of soldiers from Illinois, Indiana, and Maryland.
