The collection consists primarily of photographic, blueprint, journals, class photos, and other advertising materials used and/or created by the Medical News & Information department of East Carolina University.

Collection (1900 - 1983, undated [Bulk: 1936 - 1940]) of correspondence, newspaper clippings, photographic prints, printed forms, ephemera, printed materials, oversized materials, etc. relating to the life and career of William J. Croom (1901-1940) as a patrolman in Kinston, North Carolina, a member of the first North Carolina State Highway Patrol in Greensboro, N.C., and Director of Public Safety in Durham, N.C.; Also included are Croom and Peed family genealogical files and photographs.

Papers of Rosanna Warren (1964-1989, [Bulk: 1981-1984], undated) documenting the life and literary career the Fairfield, Connecticut-born American poet and educator at Boston University, who was the daughter of writers and poets Robert Penn Warren (#1169-014) and Eleanor Clark (#1169-070); consisting of an uncorrected proof of Each Leaf Shines Separate: Poems (1984); also loose manuscript items transferred from her works in the Stuart Wright Book Collection, including from Each Leaf Shines Separate: Poems (1984), Joey Story: A Ten Year Old Girl's Story of Her Dog (1964), Snow Day (1981) and from New England Review, Vol. 4, no. 2 (1982).

Willard and Daisy Rowe Papers (1963-2006) contain newsletters,clippings, publications and a poster documenting the work of the Evangelical Baptist Mission in Franklin County, North Carolina, and in Guatemala.

Oral history interviews relating to his youth and his experiences, 1917-1972, as the second African-American midshipman to attend the United States Naval Academy (Class of 1941) for approximately three weeks during the summer of 1937, and his education and career as a teacher in the Washington, DC school system, 1942-1972. Received 8/26/1997, 3/23/2004.

Genealogical material on Tyson Family of Pitt County, North Carolina, prepared in 1982 by Dr. Bruce C. Tyson, Jr.

Material (1862-2017) including correspondence, manuscripts, photographs, narrative reminiscences, and a muster roll (1862) and other original documents related to Dr. William N. Still, Jr.'s career as a well-known and respected maritime historian and author. His research topics included shipbuilding in North Carolina, maritime history, and Naval history in the American Civil War through World War II.

This candid and detailed World War I diary (April 25, 1918-March 12, 1919) was kept by Carl Whittlesey of Barton County, MO, during his service with the 313 Engineers 88th Division. He kept detailed entries regarding his training at Camp Dodge in Johnston, Iowa, his participation in the Alsace Campaign in France, and his involvement in developing the war ravaged areas in Europe.

Genealogical materials for Dixon, Haddock, Hemby, Laughinghouse, Nelson, Jenkins, Baldree, Dail-Deal, Flake, Kittrell and other families of Pitt County, NC. Also includes local history and biographical sketches by William B. Kittrell, a DVD of a Motion picture of Greenville, North Carolina (ca. 1940s-1950s) showing ordinary daily scenes and local buildings, CD of early 20th Century Pitt County schools, and 2 DVDRs made from 8mm reels of home movies (1947-1967) made by the Keel family of Greenville, N.C.

This collection contains correspondence (August 1941-June 1942, undated) between Richard H. Owen and his parents, especially his mother Mrs. M. A. Owen in Miami, Florida, while he was serving aboard the USS Crescent City and stationed at the U.S. Naval Air Station at Corpus Christi, Texas. Also included is a notepad containing First Aid lessons and addresses.

Heavily ornate steel engravings at boarders with 3 insets of images of Table Mountain, Chimney Rock, French Broad River and a Plan of Charleston. Evenly browned with crease at center fold. Wallace Jr.'s military service during World War II, including a scrapbook documenting Wallace's service in Battery "C", 2nd Battalion, 113th Field Artillery Regiment (formerly designated 117th Field Artillery); also referred to as 113th Field Artillery Battalion, 30th Infantry Division, North Carolina National Guard, based in Washington, N.C., including newspaper clippings, orders, photograph prints, and rosters; correspondence and newsletters pertaining to 30th Infantry Division reunions; a copy of the American Battle Monuments Commission's pamphlet entitled "30th Division: Summary of Operations in the World War" (1944); also oversized maps of the 30th Division's offensive operations during World War I, 1917-1918, removed from the pamphlet; in English, Dutch, & French language.

Papers (1929-1961, 1982) including correspondence, photographs, citations, reports, war diaries for USS Zane and Trever, accounts of battles at Pearl Harbor and Guadalcanal, publications, orders, and personal materials.
