Papers (1805-1889, 1961-1963) of a wealthy, Elizabeth City, NC business family, consisting of correspondence, legal records, financial records, genealogical papers, Civil War events, letters, wedding gift, labor strikes and miscellaneous.
This collection (1913, 1926, undated) of notes, correspondence, and reports were found in a book titled A City Plan for Raleigh : Being a Report to the Civic Department of the Woman's Club of Raleigh, N. C. / by Charles Mulford Robinson published in 1913. Included are a report related to the civic beautification plan for Raleigh, North Carolina (ca. 1913); a letter (1926) from E. B. Jeffress, mayor of Greensboro, NC, describing recent civic improvements; and a 1926 Report of Conditions on Newbern Ave. and Hillsboro Street in Raleigh, by T. L. Mulford for the North Carolina State Superintendent of Public Instruction.
Collection contains mainly land records (1793-1867, 1889, 1912) pertaining to the Summers family of Guilford County, North Carolina. Also included are Richardson's Monitor of Free-Masonry written by Jabez Richardson (publication date unknown), and a few letters (1904-1924).
This collection contains records (1942-1945) pertaining to Captain Wallace L. Wright's service in the Army Air Corps during World War II. Included are his Flight Record and Log, a diary (1933-1944) he kept when he was with the 8th Squadron 3rd Attack Group and other documents such as Special Orders (1943) and Individual Flight Record documents.
