Louis Orr Collection

The Louis Orr Collection contains a set of forty-eight prints of the original fifty-one print set (and one replacement print) made from etchings of North Carolina historical landmarks and architectural sites. The etchings were created from 1939 to 1952 by artist Louis Orr, a world-renown etcher, at the behest of North Carolina resident Robert Lee Humber who wanted to preserve North Carolina's heritage by providing the artwork to schools, colleges, public libraries and institutions throughout the state.

Papers of R. V. Verlin (1950-1970 [Bulk: 1970]) documenting the life and literary career of the prolific Cedar Falls, Iowa-born American novelist and short story writer, who was also a reviewer, editor, painter, lithographer and creative writing educator at the University of Washington, Columbia University, the Iowa Writer's Workshop, and Brown University, among other universities; consisting of proofs and manuscript materials relating to his novel Doctor Cobb's Game (1970) and loose manuscript items transferred from the Stuart Wright Book Collection relating to Cassill's first novel The Eagle on the Coin (1950).

Halifax County Historical Association Papers

Papers (1961-2007) of the Halifax County Historical Association (N.C.) including correspondence of general nature concerned with group tours, bibliography sketch, financial records, membership rolls, itineraries etc. Various historical documents, photographs, ephemera and clippings relate to the history of Halifax County including Rosenwald schools and Brick School among many other topics (1816-2011).
