Shadrach "Shade" I. Wooten was born in 1845 in North Carolina. He was married to Henrietta Louise Wooten and was guardian of his sisters sons James Yadkin Joyner and John P. Joyner. The collection spans 1874, 1880, and 1966 and includes notes, correspondence, and expense records pertaining to Shadrach Wooten's guardianship over his two nephews.
