Papers of Andre Dubus (1967-1984, undated) documenting the literary career of the noted Lake Charles, Louisiana-born American novelist and essayist, consisting mainly of loose manuscript items transferred from the Stuart Wright Book Collection including correspondence, photographic prints, notes, advertising postcards, dust jackets, broadsides, and clippings of reviews, by or about Andre Dubus, Richard Ghormley Eberhart, and others; also a corrected page proof of his short story Land Where My Fathers Died (1984).
Papers (1943-1945) of naval reserve officer who commanded the Naval Armed Guard aboard the SS EDWIN L. GODKIN and the SS CHIPPEWA, during World War II, including logbooks, inventories, reports, memorandums, voyage itinerary, orders, photographs, etc.
Papers (1946-1948) obtained by Richard Dillard Dixon, Jr., while visiting his father Richard Dillard Dixon, Sr., who participated in the of International Military Tribunal (for Nazi war crimes) held in Nuremberg, Germany, as a member of the judges Secretariat and as a judge. Included are mimeographed transcripts of some of the trials and related manuscripts, press releases, and wall charts delineating the hierarchy of Nazi German government and military system. Other papers (1870-1970) concern the life of Edenton, N.C., attorney, insurance agent, wholesale oil salesman and civic activist Richard Dillard Dixon, Jr.

Also included is Uriah Vaughan correspondence (1876-1887) and a photocopy of the 1969 appraisal of Uriah Vaughan Heirs Property in Murfreesboro, North Carolina.

Heavily ornate steel engravings at boarders with 3 insets of images of Table Mountain, Chimney Rock, French Broad River and a Plan of Charleston. Evenly browned with crease at center fold. Hand-colored. Made on wove paper. Location: Vault.
