Papers (ca. 1890s-2003) of Nina Belle Redditt (1923-2005) and family of Greenville, Pitt County, N.C. Nina Belle Redditt, who served as a DKC officer in the U.S. Navy for 31 years, was the daughter of George Edward Harris, Sr., and Isabella "Belle" Augusta Hearne Harris. Included are scattered correspondence (1905-1907, 1930s-1950s, 1975), photographs and photocopies of photographs (1890s-1978), clippings (1950s-2003), and genealogical notes related to the Harris, Hearne and Moore families of Pitt County and the Redditt family of Beaufort County, N.C. Also included are two books: Old Southern Songs of the Period of the Confederacy, and Southern Sidelights by Rev. William E. Cox. Additional material relates to Nina Belle Redditt's Navy career and includes a photograph album (1947-1955) of service in Malta, Bainbridge, Maryland, and the Portrex war exercise in Puerto Rico; and photographs (1953) and documents (1956, 1963) related to the Korean War Military Armistice Agreement and the United Nations Command's involvement.

Papers of William [Morris] Meredith, Jr. (1964-1983) documenting the life and literary career of the noted New York City-born American poet and educator at various universities including Connecticut College; consisting of materials mainly pertaining to The Cheer, by William Meredith (1980); including notes, manuscript typescripts, loose manuscript items transferred from the Stuart Wright Book Collection and oversized proofs.
The Louis Orr Collection contains a set of forty-eight prints of the original fifty-one print set (and one replacement print) made from etchings of North Carolina historical landmarks and architectural sites. The etchings were created from 1939 to 1952 by artist Louis Orr, a world-renown etcher, at the behest of North Carolina resident Robert Lee Humber who wanted to preserve North Carolina's heritage by providing the artwork to schools, colleges, public libraries and institutions throughout the state.
Original early 1900s photographs of Professor William H. Ragsdale's Boys' School aka Greenville Male Academy (handwritten inscription on the back of the image: The Old Academy, Greenville, N.C., A. B. Ellington), Pitt St. Bridge over Tar River (handwritten inscription on the back of the image: New Iron Bridge across Tar River, Greenville NC), and two interior images of the A. B. Ellington & Co. Store on Evans St. between 5th and 4th streets in Greenville, North Carolina.
Collection (1883–1910) consisting of correspondence, eight Civil War pension application ledgers, 2 account books and church record book. The majority of the collection consists of claims for pensions by blacks who served in the U.S. Army and U.S. Navy during the Civil War. The claims request compensation for wounds and injuries received or diseases contracted by the applicants. Claims were submitted either by the veterans themselves or by their survivors. While the majority of claimants appear to have lived in the vicinity of New Bern and James City, North Carolina, many resided throughout the central portion of eastern North Carolina. The ledgers were once the property of Frederick Douglass, a black lawyer, minister, and teacher of New Bern who handled the claims.

The Edward Baxter Billingsley Collection (1817-1819, 1938–1999, undated) consists of historical research materials, drafts, and a typescript copy (643 pages) of One Destroyer and World War II: A History of the U. S. S. Emmons (DD457-DM22), by Edward Baxter Billingsley, that he later published as The Emmons Saga: A History of the U. S. S. Emmons (DD457 – DM22). Also included are photographic prints, photocopied naval documents, and microfilm reels concerning his research, and correspondence (1817-1819) related to his dissertation on Chilean and Peruvian wars of Independence.
