Pitt County, N.C., Mental Health Collection

This collection consists of records (1968-1971) such as minutes, monthly reports, correspondence, and clippings related to the founding of the Coastal Plain Mental Health Advisory Board, later called the Pitt County Mental Health Authority. Also included are newsletters (1979, 1988-1993), personnel listings, brochures, an annual report (1983/1984), and retirement related items (1997) related to Dr. Stephen K. Creech's 23-year tenure as Area Director of the Pitt County Mental Health, Developmental Disabilities and Substance Abuse Center in Greenville, North Carolina.

Albert and Hilda Biller Collection

Collection (1936-1985, undated) of programs (the majority published by Playbill), librettos and souvenir pamphlets documenting plays, theatrical dance and musical productions performed in New York City and Stockholm. The publications are printed in English, French, German, Italian, Spanish and Swedish languages.

Mann - Cooper Family Collection

Thomas Mann was born in 1718 in Hertford County, NC. He owned almost 4,000 acres of land in Edgecombe County at the time of his death in 1792. The collection spans 1745, 1752, and 1910 including a land grant to Thomas Mann from George II, a plat map of a servey of Nann's property, State Fair entry flags, and various fragmented documents. The strength of the collection is Thomas Mann's legacy.

William Blount Rodman Papers

Papers (1767-1976) of three generations of Beaufort County, NC, lawyers named William B. Rodman, including correspondence, letterpress books, speeches, financial records, legal files, farm records, clippings, printed material, newspapers, photographs, genealogical material and miscellaneous. Originally from New York, the Rodmans married into the prominent Blount family in Beaufort County, NC. The Rodmans also held local and state government offices and were judges.

Records of the Brody School of Medicine: Records of the Creative Learning Center

The Creative Learning Center provides adult day care services in Greenville North Carolina. In the mid- 1980s, the East Carolina School of medicine donated $100,000 to start a satellite center in Farmville, NC. This file contains clippings, brochures, and photographs related to the opening of the Farmville satellite center.

This collection consists of materials and documents (1918-1986) pertaining to the lives and military service of Macon Jasper "Jack" Moye, Sr. and his son, Macon Jasper "Jack" Moye, Jr. Most of the collection pertains to Macon J. Moye, Jr.'s military career (1937-1968), as well as his personal life and teaching career. Macon J. Moye, Jr.'s materials include official documents and correspondence from his career in the U.S. Army, personal correspondence with his wife, photographs, clippings, ephemera, and books and other published material relating to his career and life. Macon J. Moye, Sr.'s materials (1918-1966) consist of official documents, manuals, and correspondence from his service during WWI. His materials also include personal items, like contracts pertaining to his tobacco warehouse and clippings about his life and family.

This collection (ca. 1909-2002) contains documents related to the career of David Jordan Whichard II of Greenville, N.C., longtime editor of The Daily Reflector and president and chief executive officer of the newspaper's publishing firm. Whichard also served on many professional boards such as the Southern Newspaper Publishers Association, the N.C. Press Association, the Associated Press Board of Directors, the UNC-Chapel Hill Board of Trustees, the ECU Board of Trustees, the UNC System Board of Governors, and on the board for Wachovia Corporation. All of these activities plus other business-related and civic-related activities are reflected in the correspondence, minutes, reports, publications, financial records, and clippings in this collection.
