This Record Group contains administrative records, publications, ephemera, and audiovisual materials created by the schools within the College of Fine Arts and Communication.

The Edwin Monroe Papers include reports, correspondence, speeches and statements, newspaper clippings, ephemera, and photographs related to the ECU medical school.

This collection includes the papers of retired History Professor from Darton College (now part of Albany State University in Georgia) and author Dr. Royce G. Shingleton. These papers document his literary career in the fields of Naval History and mid-nineteenth century American South. His books include High Seas Confederate (about John Newland Maffitt), John Taylor Wood: Sea Ghost of the Confederacy, and Richard Peters: Champion of the New South; he also contributed to William N. Still's book The Confederate Navy. A native of Stantonsburg, North Carolina, Shingleton has done genealogical work relative to the Shingleton family that is also found in this collection.

Collection (1901-1926) of correspondence received by Maud Smith (née Tyson) and her husband Walter Edward "Edd" Smith, from family and friends. Collection includes letters to Maud Tyson, while she attended Littleton Female College, letters from Carl Tyson, during World War I, from the Headquarters of the 81st Division, at Camp Jackson, South Carolina, between May and November, 1918, and several other letters, as well as a list of transcripts and typed transcripts of all letters in the collection.

Photocopies of a diary (May 30-Aug. 7, 1862) kept by Alfred F. Williams of the 1st North Carolina Cavalry during the Civil War covering troop movements, his capture, and his exchange. Also includes a general store account record (1865-1867).

Set of 132 photographic prints on stereoscopic cards, arranged in alphabetical order by skin disease. Explanatory text on verso of each card. "Copyright 1910 by Dr. S. I. Rainforth N.Y." at the foot of each card.

Photocopies of papers (1757-1899) of Pitt County, NC, Family, including correspondence, land records, estates papers, a will, school reports, and miscellany.

1 medical school diploma, 1 medical license, and 1 membership certificate to the Sons of the American Revolution, all issued to Hodge Newell.

This Record Group contains materials related to individuals who are neither employees or alumni of the university but who have supported the school in significant ways.

Frances Cain papers contain materials related to her involvement with the ECU School of Music and her participation in state-wide tennis tournaments.

Stuart Carr, a Greenville, N.C., native, describes his experiences working at the Greenville Fertilizer Company at the beginning of the Depression; and then his years with the E. B. Ficklen Tobacco Company in Greenville (1938-1950) with responsibility for the Carolina Leaf Tobacco Company, which sold American tobacco to Chinese manufacturers. He describes the tobacco business in China, the Japanese presence before and during WWII in China, and the loss of his company's assets with the Communist takeover in China. He goes on to discuss the more contemporary involvement of Thailand in the tobacco market and China's contemporary relationship with American tobacco companies.

Collection (1766-2010) consists of items related to the Augustus Moore (June 8, 1803-March 23, 1851) family of Chowan and Halifax Cos., N.C., his children Augustus Minton Moore, William Armistead Moore, Henrietta Moore Sutton, Susan Augustus Moore Righton, Mary Elizabeth Moore, Alfred Moore and John Armistead Moore, and the descendants of John Armistead Moore. Included are account books, legal records, land transactions, estate records, correspondence, clippings, and autograph books (1855, 1865) belonging to family members who attended Miss Willard's Female Seminary in Troy, N.Y., and Patapsco Female Institute in Ellicott City, Maryland. Also included are identified photographs (cartes de visite, tintypes, cased pictures, albums) of the Moore, Gilliam, and Skinner, families, religious books such as Roman Catholic Missals, Episcopal Books of Common Prayer and Bibles, UNC-Chapel Hill diplomas (1824), and items related to the 1878 Exposition in Paris, France.
