This collection contains papers and publications produced or related to the administration of Cecil Staton. Material types include photographs, correspondence, speeches, newspaper articles, administrative records, and university publications. Topics include Greek Life Task Force, New Faculty Orientation, his installation, commencement, Brody School of Medicine, and the Board of Trustees.

Records (ca. 1976-2004) of the East Carolina Council (North Carolina) of Boy Scouts of America include minutes of the Executive Board, photographs, issues of the Tarheel Scouter newspaper, and files pertaining to awards given to scouts.

Papers of Seaman First Class Robert Leo Croteau who served on the USS BENNINGTON during World War II in the Pacific Theatre include publications of and about the USS BENNINGTON (CV-20) and American propaganda leaflets with writing in Japanese.

This collection contains Bible Records (from 1891 Bible) for the Daniel S. (born 1817) and Caroline (born 1823) Brock family and for the Caroline Leary Brock (b. 1895, Kinston, N.C.) and Roger Neal Sutton (born 1893, La Grange, N.C.) family. Also included is the 1913 City High School Commencement program, Kinston, N.C.

The first yearbook published by the students of East Carolina Teachers College, The Tecoan, debuted in 1923. The name of the yearbook changed to the Buccaneer in 1953. The Buccaneer suspended publication from 1976-1978 and 1991-2005, finally ceasing in 2018. It was superseded by Anchors Away in 2019.

Collection (1839-1976) including correspondence, receipts, legal papers, poems, military orders, list of patients, etc., related to Nash and Franklin counties, North Carolina, and a scrapbook tracing the activities of Miss Minnie B. Parker as a nurse for the American Expeditionary Force in France, during World War I (1918-1920).

This collection (1976-2010) consists of Cypress Group News newsletters and rough drafts, photographs, correspondence, some meeting minutes, and trip documents concerning the Greenville Chapter (Cypress Group) of the Sierra Club. Also included are materials from the North Carolina Chapter of the Sierra Club concerning political action endorsements and conservation issues.

Lenoir County Colonial Commission Records (2006–2007, undated) pertaining to events and activities honoring and celebrating the life and accomplishments of landowner, Revolutionary War general, and six term governor of North Carolina, Richard Caswell, held in Kinston, N.C., 12–19 August 2007; also including newspaper clippings, programs of events, correspondence, financial records, printed materials, digital materials, drafts, and documents regarding the publication of Clayton Brown Alexander's 1930 PhD dissertation, which was a biography of Richard Caswell, entitled "First Patriots and the Best of Men: Richard Caswell in Public Life," which was edited by W. Keats Sparrow.

Papers (1976-2011) of Secretary of the North Carolina Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR), Executive Director of the North Carolina Clean Water Management Trust Fund and lobbyist for Conservation Council of North Carolina and the Sierra Club, North Carolina Chapter, including correspondence, newsletters, pamphlets, handbooks, magazines, legislative summaries, memos, reports, newspaper clippings on microfilm and miscellaneous documents relating to environmental issues.

Papers (1927-1963) consisting of correspondence, reference of Chinese social practices and customs, diaries, letters of missionaries, Chinese Civil War.

Papers of Walter Sullivan (1987-1989) documenting the life and career of the Nashville, Tennessee-born American novelist, literary critic, and English professor at Vanderbilt University; consisting of loose manuscript items transferred from the Stuart Wright Book Collection volume entitled A Requiem for the Renascence: The State of Fiction in the Modern South, by Walter Sullivan (1976); including Sullivan's letters to Stuart Wright regarding his book collection, 1987-1989.

Papers (1767-1976) of three generations of Beaufort County, NC, lawyers named William B. Rodman, including correspondence, letterpress books, speeches, financial records, legal files, farm records, clippings, printed material, newspapers, photographs, genealogical material and miscellaneous. Originally from New York, the Rodmans married into the prominent Blount family in Beaufort County, NC. The Rodmans also held local and state government offices and were judges.

The over eleven cubic feet of papers (1857-2021) in this collection compiled by local historian Edward Ellis are related to the history of Havelock and New Bern, N.C., the Civil War (especially New Bern and Eastern North Carolina), Cherry Point Marine Corps Air Station, Sir Henry Havelock and Ellis's publications. Items included are aerial photographs (1938/1939, 1950) of Craven, Pamlico and Carteret counties, N.C.; New Bern Civil War-related items; two issues of The New York Times (1862) related to the Civil War in New Bern; 1857 issues of The Illustrated London News, Frank Leslie's Illustrated Newspaper, Harper's Weekly and The New York Times related to Sir Henry Havelock and the war in India; ephemera, engravings, prints and an image on glass related to Sir Henry Havelock; Havelock Tobacco caddy labels; Havelock Progress newspaper negatives (1981-1983); photographs used in Ellis's book Historic Images of Havelock and Cherry Point (2010); manuscripts for Ellis's books In This Small Place (2005), and New Bern History 101 (2009); and four cubic feet of historical files relating to Havelock and New Bern, N.C., Cherry Point, the Civil War, genealogy and other historical topics. Also included are a short history of the Second Marine Aircraft Wing, and ninety-seven photographs (1941) with corresponding indexes and map documenting property adjoining Havelock, N.C. prior to demolition of buildings for construction of Cherry Point Marine Air Station. The photographs include scenes of farm houses, barns, outbuildings, fishing camps, fields, roads, and waterways.

This donation contains material (1968-1995) collected by Walter Charles Lackey and his wife Mildred Futrell Lackey documenting their involvement in the Murfreesboro Historical Association. Included are a photograph album containing images of the 1980 Dedication of Wheeler House and the 1977 Lafayette Ball, 1981 Lafayette Ball programs, clippings (1968-1979), the History of Murfreesboro United Methodist Church (1976), invocation and history of Wesleyan Female College upon unveiling of a historical marker, "Memories of Murfreesboro" compiled August 1992 by the Recollections Committee of the Murfreesboro Historical Assoc., and three publications.
