The collection consists primarily of photographic, blueprint, journals, class photos, and other advertising materials used and/or created by the Medical News & Information department of East Carolina University.

Papers of Fred Chappell (1952-2017, undated) documenting the life and literary career of the noted Canton, North Carolina-born American educator, short story writer, novelist, and educator, whose writing focus on Southern themes, consisting of correspondence, holographs, typescripts, loose manuscript items transferred from the Stuart Wright Book Collection, photographic prints, proofs of published works, audio recordings, printed materials & oversized materials; also including Chappell's correspondence with George Garrett, Stuart Wright and Wallace Fowlie, a clipping and a print of his poem The Collector (2011) written in honor of Stuart Wright, and a painting by Fritz Janschka.

Collection (1862-1865) including photocopies of correspondence, military orders, loyalty oaths, an invoice, a voucher, and a medical certificate related to the Civil War in North Carolina.

Records (1761-1936, 1942-1981) including correspondence, legal and financial papers, estate papers, receipts, financial records, surveys, newspaper clippings, photographs, bills of lading, genealogy, stock certificates, corporation minutes, and land records.

Papers (1943-1945) including official war diary, and a narrative detailing activities of the MILLER and its crew, as well as other ships, in the Pacific Theatre. Narrative written by crew member William L. Hewes, Jr.

Printed materials (1960-1990) received by Drs. Joseph and Lala Steelman related to the National Democratic Party and related organizations concerning social, environmental, and political issues (1969-1990). The collection also includes family files on Steelman and Edmisten families, plus large collection of familial correspondence. Records pertaining to the Steelmans' time at East Carolina are located in University Archives.

Papers (1783–1930, [bulk 1862–1930]) consisting of correspondence, diaries, photographs, photograph albums, literary manuscripts, newspapers and newspaper clipping, a book of poetry, genealogical notes, etc., documenting the life of Commodore George L. Dyer, whose naval career spanned the years 1870 to 1908, and his family. He served in various stations, with particular emphasis on the West Indies, the Asiatic Station, Cuba, Madrid (as naval attache), and Guam (as governor).

Papers (1908-1967, undated) pertaining to the military career and personal life of Lieutenant General Robert Frederick Sink (1905-1965), a graduate of West Point, a pioneer in the use of airborne warfare, who commanded the 506th Parachute Infantry Regiment of the U.S. Army Airborne Corps, during World War II, 1942-1945, participating in the Allied Invasion of Normandy (1944) and the Battle of the Bulge at Bastogne, Belgium (1944-1945); and served as Chief of Staff of the RYUKUS command based on Okinawa, Japan (1949); as Assistant Commander of the 7th Infantry Division in Korea (1951); as a member of the Joint Airborne Troop Board at Fort Bragg, North Carolina (1954); and as commander of the Strategic Army Corps (STRAC) and the 18th Airborne (1958); he was promoted to lieutenant general, in 1959, and took command of the U.S. Army in the Caribbean, a post he held until he retired in 1961 due to poor health; he died in 1965; the collection consists of correspondence, clippings, manuscripts, photographs & printed materials.

Records (1910-1956) including correspondence, financial records, minutes, legal papers, estate records, World War I and II, pamphlets, and miscellaneous.

This collection (1980s-2010s) contains material related to the life of Michael J. Hamer, an English professor at East Carolina University in Greenville, North Carolina, from 1986 through 2013, and a prolific songwriter, singer, and band leader who died in 2017. Included are notebooks containing his handwritten lyrics, poems, photographs, reel to reel tapes, clippings, and other material pertaining to his musical career.

Collection (1766-2010) consists of items related to the Augustus Moore (June 8, 1803-March 23, 1851) family of Chowan and Halifax Cos., N.C., his children Augustus Minton Moore, William Armistead Moore, Henrietta Moore Sutton, Susan Augustus Moore Righton, Mary Elizabeth Moore, Alfred Moore and John Armistead Moore, and the descendants of John Armistead Moore. Included are account books, legal records, land transactions, estate records, correspondence, clippings, and autograph books (1855, 1865) belonging to family members who attended Miss Willard's Female Seminary in Troy, N.Y., and Patapsco Female Institute in Ellicott City, Maryland. Also included are identified photographs (cartes de visite, tintypes, cased pictures, albums) of the Moore, Gilliam, and Skinner, families, religious books such as Roman Catholic Missals, Episcopal Books of Common Prayer and Bibles, UNC-Chapel Hill diplomas (1824), and items related to the 1878 Exposition in Paris, France.

Oral history interview (ca. 1991) with president-elect of Friends of Joyner Library, who was also Episcopal Chaplain of ECU, pastor of First Christian Church, Clarksville, TN, 1949-1959, and of First Christian Church, Greenville, NC, 1959-1969, member of Greenville City Council, president of Friends of Sheppard Memorial Library, relating to his early life, education, denominational affiliations, interest in libraries, and role as chaplain, 1949-1991. This collection consists of materials and documents (1918-1986) pertaining to the lives and military service of Macon Jasper "Jack" Moye, Sr. and his son, Macon Jasper "Jack" Moye, Jr. Most of the collection pertains to Macon J. Moye, Jr.'s military career (1937-1968), as well as his personal life and teaching career. Macon J. Moye, Jr.'s materials include official documents and correspondence from his career in the U.S. Army, personal correspondence with his wife, photographs, clippings, ephemera, and books and other published material relating to his career and life. Macon J. Moye, Sr.'s materials (1918-1966) consist of official documents, manuals, and correspondence from his service during WWI. His materials also include personal items, like contracts pertaining to his tobacco warehouse and clippings about his life and family.

Papers of Donald Davie (1938-2016 [Bulk: 1938-2010], undated), the English-born writer, editor, poet, and educator, relating primarily to Davie's life and literary career, including correspondence, typescripts, holographs, miscellaneous materials and loose manuscript items transferred from the Stuart Wright Book Collection, proofs of published works, audio-visual materials, printed materials, and oversized materials, including works by Reginald Gibbons, Robert Shapard, James Thomas, and others.

This collection (1791-1960) documents the horse and mule business, farm operations, land transactions, saw mill operation, and other business enterprises of Edward Cyrus Winslow (b. 1886) of Tarboro, Edgecombe County, N.C. Included in the collection are correspondence, financial and legal records such as account books, ledgers, bills and receipts, contracts with other mule dealers, promissory notes, agricultural liens and chattel mortgages, deeds, and lease and rental agreements. Also included are superior court records, blueprints of farm tracts and dairy equipment, printed material, business and family photographs, and a small quantity of family correspondence.
