This collection contains political brochures, posters, and mailings (1990s-2020) related to mainly Greenville, Pitt County, North Carolina and U.S. Congressional races although some relate to Presidential elections. The focus is on Democratic Party candidates, but also includes some items related to Republican Party rivals.
Included are the records (1961-2020) of the Dilettante Book Club of Greenville, North Carolina. Members of the ECC (East Carolina College) Faculty Wives Club met in September 1961 to start the book club and established the name Dilettante Book Club at their October 1961 meeting.
Collection (1945-circa 1980s, undated) of clippings, photographs, Christmas cards, World War II ration books, relating to the Parker family, "Pitch a Boogie Woogie" a film with an all-black cast, the Corner Stone Baptist Church, and Mt. This collection contains genealogical files belonging to avid genealogist Sylvia Corey (July 10, 1925–November 9, 2020) of Greenville, N.C. Included are files related mainly to the Corey (of Martin County) and Leggett (of Beaufort County) families, but also to the Gorham, Baker, Davis, Whitmell, and Wynne families among many others. Some files are related to her work with the Pitt County Family Researchers group. Also contains a zip file of born-digital genealogy material created using "Reunion" software.
