The Greenville chapter of the American Association of University Women was organized May 10, 1929. The chapter initially had 31 members and Mrs E. L. Hillman served as the first president from 1929 to 1932. Mrs. S. J Everett served as the first Vice President, Mrs. J. E. Winslow as the first Treasurer, and Katherine Holtzclaw as the first Secretary.
