The Association for Childhood Education International is a 501 c 3 charitable organization dedicated to promoting the optimal education and development of children in a changing world through various programs and projects. ACEI was established as the International Kindergarten Union in 1892. In 1931, the organization joined with the National Council of Primary Education and became the Association for Childhood Education. ACE members realized the importance on advancing childhood education throughout the world and in 1946 they added "International" to the organization's name.
