The East Carolina University School of Dental Medicine enrolled its first class of pre-doctoral students in 2011. Programs include the pre-doctoral program, leading to a doctor of dental medicine degree, and post graduate programs in advanced education in general dentistry, general practice residency, and pediatric dentistry. The school is based in Ledyard E. Ross Hall on the Health Sciences Campus in Greenville. It is named for benefactor and retired Greenville orthodontist Dr. Ledyard E. Ross, ECU class of 1951.
