Thaddeus Berkley "Buck" Sitterson was born 1936 May 29 to Berkley and Helen (Holley) Sitterson. He served as an administrator at Pitt County Memorial Hospital(previously Vidant, now ECU Health) from 1968 until 1999. He was first the Hospital's Business Affairs Manager and Comptroller and later served as Vice President of Risk Management and Outreach. Sitterson married Mary Sue Byrd in 1956 and they had Susan Byrd and Thaddeus Berkley.

Many items come from the "Citizen's Committee for the Pitt County Memorial Hospital," a committee that led the efforts to raise support for the Pitt County Hospital bond. The papers also have the only known copy of "Movin On," a PCMH in-house newsletter from 1977 documenting the move from the Fifth Street Hospital to the new facility on the corner of Stantonsburg Road and Moye Boulevard.
