Bennett Edward Stephenson was born 1910 March 28 to Bennett and Stella Ivy (Muse) Stephenson. He graduated from the Medical College of Virginia in 1935 with his doctorate, and the same year married Alma McGee. During World War II, Stephenson became a Lieutenant Colonel in the U.S. Army. He died 1996 January 9 in Rich Square, North Carolina.
