Papers of cardiologist Thomas Nicholson: The papers consist of two Washington Daily newspaper clippings with photographs of Dr. Thomas Nicholson.


Biographical/historical information

Thomas W. Nicholson M.D. was born in Washington, North Carolina on 1943 November 9 to John L. Nicholson Jr. and Katherine H. Nicholson. He attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and graduated from the School of Medicine with an M.D. degree in 1970. He continued his education at the University of Oklahoma, completing an internship and residence in internal medicine, as well as a fellowship in cardiology. After completing his education, Dr. Nicholson served in the U.S. Navy as a Lieutenant Commander and head of Internal Medicine at the Port Hueneme Naval Hospital in California. In 1976, he returned to Washington, North Carolina and joined Pamlico Internal Medicine, practicing medicine there for thirty-four years. Dr. Nicholson married Sue M. Nicholson and they had three sons, Westray, Marshall, and John. He died 2014 March 22.
