President John F. Kennedy visited East Carolina College during his 1960 campaign. He was assassinated in Dallas, Texas in November 1963 by Lee Harvey Oswald. He was succeeded as President by Lyndon B. Johnson.

Also included are news releases associated with the actions of Vice-President Lyndon B. Johnson, the search, capture, and assassination of Lee Harvey Oswald, and details of the funeral arrangements and condolences from world leaders.
