This collection contains political brochures, posters, and mailings (1990s-2020) related to mainly Greenville, Pitt County, North Carolina and U.S. Congressional races although some relate to Presidential elections. The focus is on Democratic Party candidates, but also includes some items related to Republican Party rivals.

Biographical/historical information

A few of the Democratic and Republican representatives within the collection are:

Richard Burr was part of the Republican Party in North Carolina. He was a senator from 2005-2023.

Marian McLawhorn was part of the Democratic Party in North Carolina. She was a member of the North Carolina house of representatives from 1999-2013.

Perrin Jones was part of the Republican Party in North Carolina. He was a member of the North Carolina House of Representatives from 2019-2020.

Walter B. Jones was part of the Republican Party in North Carolina. He was a member of the North Carolina House of Representatives for 12 years until his death in 2019.

Brochures, flyers, pamphlets, and other ephemera about their campaigns can be found in this collection.

Scope and arrangement

This collection contains over 40 folders and one oversize folder of primarily brochures, posters, newsletters, and flyers relating to Democratic representatives in the Greenville, Pitt County, North Carolina area. There are a few items relating to the Republican party rivals.
