Biographical/historical information

Ralph C. Tucker attended the Greenville High School and graduated in 1936 and went to the Smithdeal-Massey Business College where he received two certificates in 1938. Ralph served in World War II in the 615th Ordnance Company (AM). After the war, he became a member of the Pitt County Soil and Water Conservation Commission. Ralph Tucker married Ramona R. Tucker and had a son, Dr. John A. Tucker.


Scope and arrangement

This collection is separated into 8 series: (1) correspondence and financial records, (2) clippings removed from scrapbooks, (3) photographic prints and negatives, (4) printed materials, (5) scrapbooks, (6) awards, (7) oversized materials, and (8) correspondence and bulletins.

August 6, 2021, ( addition 1), 0.25 cubic feet; Addition consists of correspondence (1974-1975, 1982-1985) mainly written by Ralph and Ramona Tucker to their son John Allen Tucker; an address book and partial diary kept by Ralph Tucker in 1945 and 1946; and Ralph Tucker's 1936 diploma from Greenville High School in Greenville, North Carolina, and his two certificates (1938) from Smithdeal-Massey Business College. Also included is the December 18, 2010, bulletin for the Memorial Service for Mrs. Beatrice Carr Jones Maye held at Sycamore Hill Missionary Baptist Church in Greenville, NC. Donor: Dr. John A.
