Frederick J. Weber was born on November 8, 1908. He married Maragret Weber. He served in the Navy during WWII as a Gunners Mate 3rd Class Petty Officer. Weber passed away on September 28, 1981.
This collection consists of a pictorial log of the 33rd (Special) U.S. Naval Construction Battalion (the Seabees), and a photograph of Frederick Weber from Long Island, NY. Weber was a member of the 33rd Battalion's Company "C."
The log details the battalion's California field, stevedore, and other technical training; the group's voyage to the Pacific aboard the Norwegian transport ship M/S TORRENS and recreation on board; building a camp site on Samar Island; USO shows; and the supply station at Guiuan. Other log entries include individual and group photographs of battalion members and officers, as well as information concerning sports activities and duties. The log concludes with shots of Samar Island and rosters of officers and men. The collection also contains a photograph of Frederick J. Weber in uniform.
