Abstract:

Philatelists who are interested in North Carolina related issuances can find many examples of collectable stamps and stamp cancellations that feature prominent citizens and landmarks. Andrew Jackson, a North Carolina native and the 7th President of the United States, has been featured on Confederate, Union, and U.S. Postal Service stamps. The Wright Brothers, Virginia Dare, and the Cape Hatteras National Seashore, among many others, have all been featured on commemorative stamps.
