Abstract:
Martin discusses the work of Asheville artist Sallie Middleton, who paints wildlife and woodland scenes in watercolors. Middleton does not paint from museum specimens, preferring to study and sketch her subjects in their natural surroundings. She is considered one of North Carolina's foremost artists, and her original paintings command prices up to $10,000.
