Abstract:

Tularemia is primarily an infectious disease of rabbits and rabbit-like animals and is transmitted from animal to animal by ticks, flies, fleas, and lice. It assumes public health importance in that man becomes infected by contact with animals and insects that have the disease. Hines discusses tularemia's distribution, seasonal prevalence, affect on animals, source of human infection, affect on humans, and prevention and control.
