Abstract:

"The elusive Pine Barrens treefrog captivates herpetologists, yet habitat loss is pushing this rare encounter out of reach." North Carolina named the Pine Barrens treefrog its official state frog in 2013. North Carolina is also home to six other native species of treefrogs.
