Abstract:
"Neighbors in a Johnston County community saw their beloved rail town fading and got to work. Together they've shown what's possible with a con-do attitude and the power of positivity." Founded in 1873, Selma became a busy railroad hub. By 2017, Selma was struggling and hit its lowest point with Covid in 2020. Melissa Dooley and Cindy Brookshire are noted for their volunteer work for for bringing renewed interest foe Selma.
