Abstract:
"Adding more nurses becomes a top priority for state lawmakers." It is estimated North Carolina will be short 17,500 registered nurses within a decade. Addressing a shortage of instructors is of particular concern as nursing educators don't earn as much as their peers on the frontline. In North Carolina, the gap between these two is slightly over $10,000 per year. The North Carolina Legislature has set aside $546 million in the two-year state budget running through 2025 to address the need.
