"Too few full-time nurses are causing severe service and financial problems at North Carolina's hospitals. In north Carolina, registered nurses earn on average $71,000. Reliance on travel nurses has become unsustainably expensive, forcing hospital systems like ECU Health to chut down a number of it clinics in rural areas.
