Abstract:

"The Chicagoan helped shape Charlotte's radio industry for more than two decades." Kaplan's father started Chicago's leading radio station, WBBM in the 1920s. Kaplan started her career in the late 1950s. Her and husband Stan bought Charlotte's AM station in 1965 and made it a successful venture until its sale in 1989.
