Abstract:

"The COVID-19 pandemic slowed North Carolina industrial and business development efforts, but the virus couldn't stop them. Businesses finished 2020 at a record clip, setting them up for a strong run this year." In 2019, there was great optimism with economic development in the state. Despite initial setbacks, at the start of the pandemic, economic promoters signaled a recovery by early summer 2020 as developers and companies alike were finding new ways of cementing relationships and expanding opportunities. The article covers a variety of examples throughout the state.
