PiYo is an exercise program that combines Pilates and yoga not only to create a dynamic workout of strengthening and stretching, but also enhances the balance between one's mind and body. The certified trainer for PiYo is Jessica Whittemore, of Belhaven, NC, a Sixth Grade English Language Arts and Social Studies teacher at Mattamuskeet Early College High School. With a background in running, crew rowing and Muddering (obstacle course racing), Jessica enjoys kickboxing, hiking and lifting weights. She teaches PiYo in Hyde and Beaufort Counties in the evenings.
