Abstract:
John Lovick appears in North Carolina in 1713 in company of Governor Edward Hyde. Lovick was appointed to the Proprietary Council, was Secretary of the Province, delegate to the General Assembly, Vice Admiralty Court Judge in 1722 and Virginia –North Carolina Boundary Line Commissioner in 1728. In 1733, Lovick was named Chief Justice and Surveyor General of the colony.
