Abstract:
Allen Jones, an Edgecombe County native, educated at Eton College in England, elected a member of the colonial assembly 1773-75 and was a Brigadier General in the militia in the Revolution. He served in the NC Senate and was a delegate to the Continental Congress in 1779-80. He died at his plantation, ‘Mount Gallant,’ in Northampton Co., NC.
