On Nov. 15, 1838, Allen Edwards of Pitt County, sold to Benjamin May, of Pitt County, that part of the land of Alexander Britt, dec’d., allotted to Emanuel Britt, now owned by John H. Dixon and held by Allen Edwards. Allen Edwards owed money to James Williams and John May and Allen Edwards sold this land to Benjamin May.
