On Aug. 11, 1900, Frank Mills, a one armed Confederate veteran, of Chicod twsp.and a little boy, were attacked by two negro men, Shade Adams and Bob Johnson. Mr. Mills, with amazing presence of mind, was able to best them and cut them both badly with his knife.
