The Fight to Save the Old Tory Oak

Abstract:
The Tory Oak, a Wilkes County landmark, was used to hang five Tories after the Battle of Kings Mountain. On June 12, 1989, a storm heavily damaged the tree, but treatment will enable it to survive.
