Abstract:
On Nov. 5, 1892, Nelson Nichols, his son, and others, went to house of Dr. Pitt to assault him. The Nichols’ broke into the house and Dr. Pitt emptied his pistol at them and that failing to stop them, Dr. Pitt used an axe. In the melee, Dr. Pitt struck Nichols’ son on the head and another man on the arm. The blow to Nichols’ son crushed his skull. Warrants were sworn out against Nichols and his son and other parties.
