Abstract:

Chris Matteo quit his job managing money in Chapel Hill to become an oyster farmer on Chadwick Creek near Bayboro on the Pamlico Sound. He started planning the venture in 2010 when he and his wife Kelly purchased a 110-acre farm in Pamlico County. In 2013 he quit his job and began seeding oysters. His company does business under the name Chadwick Creek Oysters. Martin reports on his progress.
