Abstract:

This article provides a personal biography of Colonel F.A. Olds of Raleigh. Colonel Olds began collecting artifacts of historical significance to the state of North Carolina in the late 1870s and since 1902 has given a large amount of time and effort to the Hall of History in Raleigh, North Carolina. He has also spent a significant portion of his life writing and recording the history of North Carolina.
