Abstract:

This article discusses the activities and actions of the Signal and Secret Service of the Confederacy during the Civil War. The Signal and Secret Service were tasked with collecting intelligence about Union activities by any means, encrypting said information and sending it to headquarters in Richmond, Virginia.
