The Cool Spring Quilts: A Mid-Nineteenth Century Collection


Abstract:
The North Carolina Museum of History has a collection of thirteen pre-Civil War quilts, including examples of trapunto and strippy quilting, that belonged to Mary Eliza Pittman, who lived at Cool Spring Plantation in Edgecombe County.
