What Industry Has Done in the Development and Progress of Granville County

Abstract:
This article includes industries that have contributed through the years to the industrial development of Granville County. Oxford is the county seat. Population has increased recently with the building of Camp Butner which occupies 25 percent of the county's acreage. The Oxford Tobacco Market has operated since 1866, and dairying, farming, cotton and lumber manufacturing plants, are big industrial contributors to the economy.
