Abstract:
North Carolina and Georgia had quite a time settling their boundary dispute. Both claimed an area which Georgia had named Walton County. They argued for five years while the area became a lawless no man's land. Gudger recounts the steps taken to settle the dispute in 1807 and return the land to North Carolina.
