Abstract:

From 1991 to 2012, forty-five communities have incorporated--thirteen of them in the last ten years. Residents say incorporation helps them to better plan for their future in terms of zoning and land use. Porter-Rockwell discusses with officials from Archer Lodge (Johnston County) and Eastover (Cumberland County) and several other communities why they chose to incorporate.
